Well we failed to defend the Emirates Cup, and what's more we failed to score a goal in 180 minutes from open play despite giving the entire strike force a bash at it, but the weekend wasn't a total disaster - on the positive side we saw some great individual performances, notably by some of the younger players. Cesc was a notable absentee, and I feel certain that he'll play in Amsterdam next week enabling the manager to get his 'first eleven' clear in his head for the first Premiership game. Given that the number of allowable substitutes has been increased for this season I wouldn't bet against Jack Wilshere getting place on the bench on the strength of his performances this weekend either - brilliant. |
