2006 - Close but no cigar...

Ok ok, I know we've got to get out of the group first, but I reckon we're capable of that.

What we need to do is challenge the European elite and cause a few upsets in the latter stages of the competition.

Let's not kid ourselves - There are no shocks in the latter stages of this competition. The last ten years have seen Real Madrid and Barcelona lift the cup five out of ten times, with both Milan teams, chelsea, Man.Utd and Bayern making up the numbers - formidable opposition.

To be frank I don't feel that we're any better equipped to do better this year.

It's claimed that we're the fifth richest club in Europe, and looking at those ahead of us it seems that we're the richest club never to have won Europe's top prize. This is a shameful stat given that we've made it past the group stages in the last thirteen seasons.

What do you think? - Go to the forum and talk about it.
