Arsenal 50m bid for Everton striker in the balance

It is understood that the £50million valuation is too rich for Arsene Wenger and unless Lukaku himself forces through the move then it is unlikely to happen

Lukaku himself wants a move from Goodison Park so that he can play in the Champions League but despite some contact on the subject it is thought unlikely to progress.

The journalist said on twitter: “Arsenal aren’t too optimistic after hearing they’d have to pay £50m for Lukaku to Everton.

“Informal contact was made yesterday between Arsenal and Everton but in my opinion the deal won’t progress despite Lukaku wanting the move.”

The 23-year-old Belgium striker joined Everton after a loan spell in 2013 and is one of only five players to score 50 Premier League goals before his 23rd birthday

The tall left-footed striker is considered one of the most promising strikers in Europe and his strength is an attribute well suited to the EPL.

The Belgium international has already gained 47 caps for his country, scoring 14 goals

Lukaku has scored 16,20 and 25 goals in all competitions in his three seasons at Goodison Park.
