Arsenal Gunner make a move for Berbatov

Despite MOTD pundits failing to take Arsenal?s title challenge seriously, most people will concede that Arsenal are the real deal this season. The over-reliance this season on Olivier Giroud has so-far paid dividends but Arsene Wenger knows that he needs quality back-up to maintain the clubs push for a first piece of silverware in 9 years.

The name on many people?s lips is Dimitar Berbatov. The Bulgarian international is known for having a strop from time to time and flitting in and out of a game or 6, but clearly his time at Fulham has been uninspiring of late and a move to Arsenal would suit the Bulgarian down to the ground. There is no doubt he is a world class player when he is on his game. The thought of Berbatov linking up with Mesut Ozil will have Arsenal fans salivating at the prospect.

If Arsenal can take anything from their next two games, away to Pellegrino?s City and home to Chelsea, they are sure to go into the New Year on top of the pile and expectations will really begin to rise.

Berbatov has been linked with a move to Arsenal in some of the main papers and Arsene Wenger will be looking to make a move early into the January transfer window. Despite Bendtner having an impressive game against Hull City recently he is simply not the answer should Giroud be missing due to injury or suspension. Arsenal?s 14th League title could well depend on a quality centre forward being signed in the January transfer window and they could do a lot worse than sign the want-away Bulgarian international.

Who would you like to see Arsene Wenger sign in the January transfer window and why?
