Arsenal target Victor Valdes is going nowhere

The Catalan giants believe the long-term goalkeeper will end his career at the Nou Camp. The 31-year-old Spaniard is expected to move on this summer after making a shock announcement earlier on this season.

A host of big clubs are after the Spain international. Liverpool are keen to offload off-form Pepe Reina, while Arsenal are desperate for an experienced keeper.

Manchester United also expressed their interested in Valdes as a replacement for De Gea. Fortunately, De Gea has hit form at the best possible time, perhaps saving his career with 20-time Premier League Champions.

Valdes has been a key figure in Barca?s team for over 10 years. He?s made just under 600 appearances for the La Liga Champions.

I think the move would be good for him. After watching him on big occasions this year, he?s starting to look extremely average. I agree with the fact that he?s a fantastic leader and has a wealth of experience, but this season has exposed his unreliability at the most important times.

Arsenal would be a good choice. A club that is desperate for some form of experienced leadership out on the pitch. Not to mention, they haven?t had a decent keeper since the Seaman years to be quite honest.
