Arsenal to go all out to sign world-class striker

With new boss Rafa Benitez looking to play Ronaldo as the clubÂ’s main forward the future of the other centre-forwards seems unclear

With Arsene Wenger being a long-term admirer of French international Karim Benzema it looks like he could attempt to persuade the player to come to the Emirates if reports are to be believed.

The Spanish newspaper AS claims that Arsene Wenger is preparing a £17.8m bid to bring the player to England in the summer after being alerted about the player's availability.

That figure seems somewhat short of previous quoted figures and at present it is unclear what valuation has been placed on the star striker

The 27-year-old is in his prime and world add a world-class striker that club legend Thierry Henry believes Arsenal need to challenge for the Premier League title

Henry doesn't believe that Olivier Giroud has the quality by himself to lead the front line to the title and that Benzema could be just what the Gunners need.

The player who launched his senior career at Lyon between 2004-2009 has scored an impressive 87 league goals in 188 starts for Real

With a consistent strike rate of 20+goals in all competitions for the past five seasons the French star would be a major coup should Arsene Wenger persuade the player to move.

Is Benzema the world-class striker that can help Arsenal to the next level domestically and in Europe?
