Arsenal v Chelsea - Player Ratings

Well, that is of course, except for the time that we did score! But we can't dwell on decisions like that, they even themselves out over the course of the season, and in all honesty Tel is partly to blame. He knew he was offside and had he walked backwards and away from the play the goal would have stood but instead he sprinted into the middle looking for a square ball which resulted in the linesman's flag being raised.

There should have been two red cards in the game, Essien for Chelsea and Swiss Phil. Both received yellows so we can't really complain about that.

This wasn't a bad display at all, but we lacked penetration and this ultimately cost us. Henry hitting the post in the first half was as good as it got, and if anything Chelsea looked like scoring more.

So onto Doncaster in the Carling Cup – this could well be our route into Europe next season! (Joking!!)

Jens Lehmann (6) Good distribution and catching; maybe could have done more with their first goal.

Lauren (5) No matter who we play at left back they give away goals! Lauren had a poor game which was made worse as he gifted Joe Cole the ball to score their second.

Sol Campbell (6) His poor passing has become a feature of his play this season.

Philippe Senderos (7) Powerful and hungry for it. He coped with Drogba and while he could have been sent off late on, at least he was putting in tough challenges.

Kolo Toure (8) By far our man of the match, he was everywhere making big tackles and crucial interceptions.

Alexander Hleb (5) Great dribbling but his final ball let him down.

Mathieu Flamini (6) Led the midfield for spells.

Cesc Fabregas (5) Was he even on the pitch?

Freddie Ljungberg (5) He couldn't get into the game and had little impact.

Robin Van Persie (6) Slight drop from him as he struggled to make an impact and had to drift wide to pick the ball up.

Thierry Henry (6) Gave us our best (only) attacking moment.

Subs:

Dennis Bergkamp (4) He has never been good coming off of the bench and today was no exception.

Robert Pires (4) No impact on the game.

Quincy (4) One quick run followed by nothing.
