Arsenal v Plymouth Argyle - Player Ratings

Last updated : 05 January 2009 By Luis Anaconda

Lukasz Fabianski - 6 - The anti-Almunia continues to come for everything - surely there is a happy medium. Great save at the end, though.

Bacary Sagna - 7 - Comfortably won his battle with a tenacious but limited winger.

William Gallas - 6 - Struggled in the air, just for a change.

Johan Djourou - 7 - Struggled with the amazing collapsing Fallon, but otherwise safe and sound.

Mikael Silvestre - 5 - Showed his limitations going forward, before an early exit.

Emmanuel Eboue - 6 - Never really got into the game in the first half, better in the second.

Aaron Ramsey - 6 - Too many loose passes, but an energetic performance.

Abou Diaby - 6 - See above - if he could pass as well as he carries the ball he would be a world-beater.

Samir Nasri - 7 - Pretty good throughout but it was when moved to a central role that he prospered most.

Nicklas Bendtner - 5 - When he was consigned to the wing for a second game in a row, he might have worked out that something is wrong. Perhaps if he learns to do the simple things first rather than come up with fancy lay-offs he would be more useful.

Robin van Persie - 7 - The outstanding player on view with just too much talent for a committed Plymouth defence - thank God.

Substitutes:

Kieran Gibbs - 7 - Bright going forward, caught out a couple of times at the back.

Carlos Vela - 7 - An increasingly lively and effective option from the bench.

Jack Wilshere - 6 - Still looks too young to play.
