Arsenal v Spurs - Memories, and a rallying call!

Last updated : 28 October 2008 By Steve Goodwin

Although there have been some bad times through the years we have had many more great ones as well.

April 1971, Ray Kennedy rising to power the header past a despairing Pat Jennings, a sea of red and white all round the ground.

Christmas 1978, Santa Claus on the front of the programme the gifts were all for the Arsenal as those of us shoe-horned into the Park Lane end saw a 5-0 victory and that goal by Chippy.

It's now April 1987 and Georges Gunners are down and out of the League Cup according to the tannoy. One of our own namely Rocky sent us all into delirium as the script according to the match announcer was torn to pieces.

We only had to wait two years as Tony Adams laid the ghost of 91 with a towering header at Wembley in the FA Cup Semi-Final of 1993.

1996 and a certain Dutch master was sliding on his knees towards the North Bank and we were all in a 'Bergkamp wonderland'.

The Bobby and Patrick show at Old Trafford in 2001 as we came from behind to win another FA Cup Semi-Final.

Then the repeat performance as the same two combined to ensure that we picked up the Premiership in 2004.

Finally it's 2007 and one of the best nights so far at the Emirates as the kids booked their place in another final.

All great occasions to be an Arsenal supporter and we are sure you will have your own great memories of North London Derbies.

The one factor that stands out in all those games was the fervour of our support, in a lot of those games we really were the 12th man.

Let us try and recreate that tomorrow night, the boys need our support, bring your scarves it's going to be cold anyway, lets get in the ground early and let's sing our hearts out for Arsene and the lads.
