Bayerns Gustavo drops Arsenal hint

The Gunners have reportedly joined the chase for the 26-year-old Brazilian, who has also caught the eye of Bayern's Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg, and the defensive-minded player admits a move away from the treble-winners is looking increasingly likely.

With Mario Gotze and Thiago Alcantara arriving in Bavaria this summer, he is set to spend even more time on the bench this season, which could potentially cost him a place at the World Cup.

And after initially saying he would stay and fight for his place, he now appears to have had a change of heart.

"My situation at Bayern is really complicated," Germany's SID agency quotes him as saying upon his arrival in Basel for Brazil's international friendly meeting with Switzerland.

"I have a contract until 2015 so there is no reason to despair, but I want to move to a club where I can play.

"There are still two weeks until the transfer window closes and so a lot can still happen."

Arsenal would be a particularly attractive option for the former Hoffenheim midfielder, who says he would be keen on swelling the ranks of former Bundesliga stars in north London - following a path already taken by Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski.

"They are a great team and that would be a great chance," he said.
