Christmas Ratings Bonanza...

Last updated : 31 December 2007 By Luis Anaconda

So Christmas has come and gone - Super Nick shepherded us home against Spurs, Herod Redknapp sent out his mass of troops to protect his goal and the three wise men Eduardo, Adebayor and Rosicky snatched the points at Goodison Park. Seven points meant we stretched the lead at the top despite the championship race being declared over after two dropped points at Pompey. Not bad, not bad at all.

Manuel Almunia - 8 - A penalty save against Spurs and a clean sheet at Pompey were good, but it was his assured performance against Everton that gives most confidence for the rest of the season.

Bacary Sagna - 7 - Continues to impress.

Kolo Toure - 7 - Having got Manuel out of jail at White Hart, the keeper returned the favour, otherwise our Ivorian showed us exactly what we are going to miss when he heads to ACN.

William Gallas - 7 - Solid as a rock with a strange growth of moss on its top.

Gael Clichy - 7 - Must have talked to Nigel Winterburn about his Wimbledon days with his assists against Everton and handled the threat of Lennon well.

Emmanuel Eboue - 6 - Less of a loss when he goes off to Africa but showed signs of the talent that Arsene clearly sees in him.

Mathieu Flamini - 7 - Probably the MotM against Spurs and competitive in two very difficult away games.

Cesc Fabregas - 6 - Lacking his normal creative spark but did not take a step backwards in tough physical games.

Tomas Rosicky - 6 - Continues to flatter to deceive and missed a great chance to make it a perfect Christmas at Portsmouth.

Alexander Hleb - 7 - Working hard to recapture his pre-injury form without things quite taking off.

Emmanuel Adebayor - 7 - Two vital goals and a nice, deserved rest in between.

Abou Diaby - 6 - Continues to show promise- needs to show more.

Nicklas Bendtner - 6 - A hero with his winner against Spurs, he was frustrated on the bench against Portsmouth and on the pitch at Everton. Has a month of cup games to enhance his reputation but he is lucky he is only sitting out one match for his lunge at Johnson.

Eduardo da Silva - 8 - Great left foot, decent right hand - our secret weapon has been well and truly unveiled.

Lassana Diarra/Gilberto Silva - How long are these two going to be with us?
