Manchester City v Arsenal - Player Ratings

Last updated : 04 February 2008 By Luis Anaconda

It was all quite routine in the end and there's not much to say. Even the ref didn't have that bad a game.

Jens Lehmann - 7 - Not overworked but showed great awareness in racing off his line to thwart City attacks.

Bacary Sagna - 8 - Another outstanding display in attack and defence from the man with the silly hair.

William Gallas - 8 - Another outstanding display in defence from the other man with the silly hair.

Philippe Senderos - 7 - No silly hair, in fact no hair at all and no mistakes as big Phil gave a solid performance.

Gael Clichy - 6 - Everyone's allowed an off-day and fortunately Gael's was not costly. The City goal rattled him a bit but he regained his composure and - lest we forget - also had had a vital role in our second goal.

Alexander Hleb - 6 - A quiet game by recent standards, but still influential.

Mathieu Flamini - 7 - Scuttled about everywhere in the first half then showed a more disciplined side to sit in front of the back four as we switched formations in the second.

Cesc Fabregas - 7 - A very Cesc-like performance.

Abou Diaby - 6 - An encouraging first half and he got stuck in when moved to a more central postion in the second. Still gave the ball away too much.

Emmanuel Adebayor - 8 - Scared the life out of one of the best centre back partnerships in the league. His reputation is growing and growing. Shame he can't stay onside more.

Eduardo da Silva - 7 - Disappeared for long periods but took his goal superbly. His partnership with Ade is blossoming.
