New improved online ticketing system 'in meltdown'

Last updated : 19 July 2006 By Chris Parry
We have reports of people not being able to log in to the ticketing section of the arsenal.com website, people who have successfully logged in only to be informed that the game is 'sold out', and numerous other tales of woe.

One person who called the box office was told by a member of staff that the system was 'in meltdown', and I suspect that the heatwave isn't the only reason.

Don't worry though - Plenty of tickets available from the touts at two hundred and fifty quid a throw (see link).

This is a total shambles. The demand is no doubt being fuelled by 'tourists' wanting to attend the first league game at the new stadium, but in essence the members are getting shafted once again - Well done Arsenal.

To top it all off we hear that the 'incentive' being offered to fans to enter the stadium early is to sell beer at £3.10 a pint - I'll stick to the pub I think.

(Postscript regarding the link above - Thanks to one of our readers!:

"I ordered tickets for the champ league final back in March which they failed
to supply and had to get my credit card to company to threaten them for not
providing them and then failing to send a cheque in the post! I only just
this month got my money back and would recommend that all fans avoid them, I am not the only one who has been mugged by these lot!!!" )
