Paddy discussing a new contract at last

Paddy - About to put pen to paper?
OK, I know the cynics out there will say that contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on these days, but actually hearing (and seeing) Paddy talking as he did on Sky Sports News made me feel a whole lot better. Here's what he had to say:

"Of course I want to stay because I find everything I'm looking for at this club. At the moment I'm talking with the chairman and the manager to extend the contract. I don't have any reason to leave this club - I love it! So I will stay here - if the club want me, of course!

"Arsene Wenger is a great manager for the club. I think he tries to learn everything about every player. He's the kind who has 100 per cent belief in his players. Then when you go on to the pitch your head is free to perform."

There's no question that Vieira is pivotal to our success - every Arsenal fan knows that - so it's reassuring to know that he's sufficiently motivated to want to stick around.

And to top it all off, there was no sign of his agent Marc Roger either!
