Last updated : 16 April 2012 By DSG

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain began the season with Southampton, the club he joined as a seven year old, before he made the move to Arsenal in August for a reported fee of £12 million (rising to £15 million).

He made his debut for Arsenal in the 8-2 defeat at Manchester United and scored his first goal for the club in the league cup game with Shrewsbury Town in September.

Oxlade-Chamberlain scored his first Champions League goal on his debut in the competition, an 8th minute strike against Olympiacos.

In doing so, he became the youngest Englishman to score in the Champions League, taking over from teammate Theo Walcott.

The young winger made his first Premier League start in a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in January 2012, assisting a Robin van Persie goal.

He followed this up by scoring twice in a 7-1 thrashing of Blackburn Rovers and received praise from Arsene Wenger.

His impact has seen him become an integral member of the England U21 squad and he is being touted as a possible member of the England squad for Euro 2012.
