ramseyWenger will be particularly happy with the three away goals, which virtually assures their advancement into the next stage of the Champions League.

However there are concerns, particularly with poor Laurent Koscielny, who received a nasty cut on the head. It would behoove Arsenal to quickly bring in another centre back.

Szczesny 8.  Not much to do in the first half, however he made three good saves in the second half. Was impressed that he stayed in despite shedding some blood, therefore I gave him an 8.

Sagna 8. For the second time this season he started on the right and ended in the centre. Had a solid game from start to finish.

Mertesacker 7. A good game from the German, he never really gave the Turks any chances.

Koscielny  7.  Was playing a good game before he was kicked in the face. A week he’ll want to forget.

Gibbs 8. A great game from Gibbs, he popped up on the left flank a number of times and finished off a great move to score Arsenal’s first goal.

Ramsey 9. Perhaps Arsenal’s best player on the field. Ran throughout, worked hard, was involved in setting up the first goal and scored the second, although an assist must be given to the Turkish goalie.

Wilshere 9.  An excellent game from Jack. He dominated the middle and could have scored after he glided through their defence. Fenerbahce couldn’t contain him.

Rosicky 8.  Another good game from Tomas who is easily our most positive player, always pushing the team forward.

Cazorla 7.  Santi Cazorla looks to be getting back to his best. He was influential through most of the game. His control continues to amaze me.

Walcott 8.  Nice pass to set up Gibbs for the first, his speed and control won the penalty a little later. Was a little wasteful in the first half, but his speed bothered the Turks from the start.

Giroud 7.  A well taken penalty, but there were times he wasn’t as involved as he’d like. However, 2 goals in 2 games is a good start to the season.

Subs:

Jenkinson 8.  A solid game for Carl. He never really looked in distress and almost poached a goal with the last kick of the game.

Podolski  n/a.  Had a number of touches of the ball, but his body language showed him to be disinterested.

Monreal  n/a.  Like Podolski, he wasn’t on long enough to register a grade, but good to see him back.
