Arsene Wenger is armed with a transfer war chest after over-seeing transfers of key players such as Samir Nasri, Cesc Fabregas and most recently Robin Van Persie out of the Emirates. After yet another trophyless season in North London, the Gunners are ready to strengthen significantly.
ARSENAL?S POTENTIAL SIGNINGS
Wayne Rooney ? Manchester United - ?30 million
Wayne Rooney?s future is up in the air after Sir Alex Ferguson rejected his transfer request; stating that David Moyes would be in charge to sort out the England international?s future.
Wenger has shown an interest in bringing the former Everton man to Arsenal in a ?30 million move. Rooney has shown an interest in a move after growing disillusioned with life in Manchester.
Arsenal are confident they can complete a deal for the 27 year old but will have to smash their wage structure as Rooney refuses to take a pay cut from his ?250,000 a week wage. With clubs like Paris Saint Germain willing to pay those kinds of sums, Arsenal will have to act quick to complete a deal.
Ashley Williams ? Swansea - ?10-12 million
Ashley Williams became a target for the Gunners last season with Swansea manager Michael Laudrup admitting that his captain could be tempted by a move to the capital.
Liverpool are rumoured to be chasing the Welsh international?s signature but it is believed that Williams has already begun talks with Arsenal. Arsene Wenger has reportedly lost faith in the central partnership of Per Mertesacker and Thomas Vermaelan and will let the latter leave for just around ?5 million.
Steven Jovetic ? Fiorentina - ?25 million
Steven Jovetic is another striker targeted by Arsenal and a move for Rooney could hinge on a deal for the Montenegran. The ?25 million rated striker is hugely admired by Wenger but new Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, is reportedly planning to hijack any move.
The 23 year old is seen as a replacement for Lukas Podolski who could be heading for Turkey as Galatasaray have shown an interest in the German forward.
Julio Cesar ? Queens Park Rangers - ?3+ million
Julio Cesar has revealed his desire to leave QPR after Harry Redknapp failed to save the club from relegation. The former Inter Milan shot stopper was brought to the Premier League after Tony Fernandes invested huge funds into the club.
After relegation, Cesar revealed he is in talks with an un-named Premier League club which is believed to be Arsenal. Wenger has lost faith in first team keeper Wojciech Szczesny and after the Brazilian?s impressive debut season has been identified as his replacement.
Harry Redknapp has indicated that it will take a big sum to prise him away from Loftus Road but it will be hard to block a move to a Champions League club.

Gervinho ? Ivory Coast - ?10 million
Gervinho is rumoured to be heading out of the exit door as Arsene Wenger looks to freshen his squad ahead of next season.
Galatasaray are interested in the Ivorian winger and are willing to spend upto ?12 million to land their man.
French side Lyon have shown an interest in securing the 25 year old?s signature on a temporary basis. However, the Gunners are only interested in a permanent transfer.
Lukas Podolski ? Germany - ?15 million
Many clubs are targeting a move for Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski after his inconsistent season led to the former Bayern Munich man losing his starting spot.
Galatasaray are interested in securing his services for around ?12 million to play him alongside other transfer target Gervinho.
Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund have shown an interest in the German after their top striker Robert Lewandowski has stated his intention to depart the club. They are hoping a ?15 million transfer fee will be enough to prise him away from London.
Meanwhile, Juventus and Atletico Madrid are also monitering his situation.
Nicklas Bendtner ? Denmark ? Loan/?10 million
Nicklas Bendtner has always been likely to leave Arsenal. The Dane left the Emirates for Juventus in a shock transfer last summer. His spell in Italy was dissapointing as many Juve fans were unhappy with their signing.
The Denmark international has again stated his intention to leave and hasn?t ruled out a shock move to Arsenal?s rivals Tottenham.
German side Hamburg are hoping to sign the 25 year old on a temporary basis but Arsenal are only accepting an offer to end all association with the striker.
However, a big money move to Russia could be on the cards as big spenders Zenit St. Petersburg and Anzhi are rumoured to be considering a move for the tall forward.
