Top 10 comebacks of all time- 6 - Newcastle 4-4 Arsenal

Last updated : 27 September 2012 By DSG

At 4-0 down after 19 minutes most would be forgiven for thinking that Newcastle were going to be in for a long afternoon. Goals from Theo Walcott, Johan Djourou and Robin van Persie inside ten minutes stunned the home side and left them with a huge mountain to climb.

A pivotal point in the game came in the form of a red card of Diaby on 50 minutes but even with 10 men Arsenal remained favourites to claim all 3 points with such a score line.

A penalty from Barton on 68 minutes was followed by a Best strike eight yards from goal to make it 4-2. A second penalty scored by Barton once again spurred on Newcastle as they poured forward in search of an equaliser, which deservedly came on 87 minutes when Tiote smashed in a long range effort after Arsenal failed to clear a free-kick.
