As someone who has been playing 'The Show' since the '07 release with David Wright on the cover, I've seen many tough glitches. Sometimes the controller freezes and you can't swing. Other times, the game thinks you pressed X too soon and you throw a fat breaking pitch instead of a twelve-six curveball.
