"We cannot say we are good enough to win the European Cup as we haven't won it and facts are facts. We gave absolutely everything, but we lost to a very good side and, over the two legs, you can't say that Bayern didn't deserve to go through.

"They are the best side we've played for a long time. Last season, we went out with lots of regrets as Chelsea weren't better than us, but I can't say that this time or I would be hiding from reality. What is good is that at least there is room for improvement and we will try again.

"But it's not obvious that we should win it as we never have done, and there are bigger clubs than us like that. Barcelona have 120 years of history, they are a massive club but they have won it just once."

"We scored at the right moment, with just enough time to score the second goal, but we never got the chance to do it, but it was the way we gave the goals away in the first game that killed us.

"We defended very well tonight but we gave them presents in the first leg and we paid for that."
