He said:

"It's a great night for the club. It's not only that we qualified, but that we did it in style and we love doing that. I believe I could put that team out against Tottenham if we had to, but I won't do that as I have a great belief in the first-team squad.

"Saturday is completely different as you need more experience to deal with a London derby.

"I was pleased we didn't panic at 1-0 down. After that, it was a good mixture of enthusiasm and quality. They played intelligently, technically well and with the spirit we like to play the game.

"We had already beaten Manchester City away in the last round. This team has quality and it shows the future of the club is in good hands."

The Boss made special mention of Quincym saying:

"He had a major impact when he came on. It's a very difficult job to predict a young player. Many people had questions about him but, when a boy has talent, you have to be patient with him. He has matured and grown up, and was very direct.

"He's not miles away from the first team at all. Robin van Persie, Jermaine Pennant, Mathieu Flamini, Quincy and, of course, Edu, they are in the first-team squad and will play before the end of the season."

And on two-goal Lupoli:

"We saw him with Parma's youth teams and I'm impressed by him as he's not only a goalscorer but he works so hard and is so determined."
