Wenger: 'In the end we were lucky'

He said immediately following the game: "At half time I felt we were unfortunate to be 1-1 because they didn't create a lot, but we played with the handbrake on and didn't push forward enough, and our strikers were isolated.

"We needed to put Chelsea under more pressure and we did that in the second half. In the end we were lucky because Cudicini is usually reliable but he made that mistake, but I felt we wanted the three points whereas they would have been happy with a point.

"In the last 30 minutes we were more offensive and didn't give them as much time on the ball as in the first half and didn't give away many chances."

Claudio Ranieri admitted that Chelsea struggle to play as a team in the way that Arsenal do, saying:

"I think today we saw that Chelsea are not a team in the same way as Arsenal or Manchester United. When Robert Pires, Sylvain Wiltord or Ashley Cole get the ball Henry knows what they are going to do with it, but when Damien Duff gets the ball for us Adrian Mutu and Hernan Crespo don't know what is going to happen next. People keep asking me how long it will take before we know what each other is going to do, but I really don't know. I just hope it happens soon."
