Wenger: 'Perfection? It's difficult to say'

Following today's game, he had this to say when asked if this had been the perfect week following the massacre in Eindhoven:

"Perfection? It's difficult to say. We want to get nearer and nearer, but what is very positive is that a champion always tries to improve and my players have this kind of attitude. They try to improve their game, their collective, their team play and they managed to do it with an outstanding spirit.

"It's one of the top performances I have seen during my six years with the club. It was just outstanding and a pleasure to watch. It was a real team performance. The fact the team got the man of the match award was a good indication of what it was like.

"We played like a real team, with crisp passing, good defending, always composed and calm on the ball and dangerous every time we went forward. After the way we played on Wednesday and again today, I just want to congratulate the team because it was just marvellous."

Of course, he was asked again by the media if he really thought that we could go unbeaten this season, and responded thus:

"We can do it, of course we ca do it, but there's a long way to go. But I believe we can beat anybody. Can we keep up top performances like that, and can the players keep the same attitude? I am convinced the players will do that.

"I am also personally convinced we can improve in a lot of areas. If you watch the game again on tape then you will see there are areas where we can improve."

That can't be good news for the rest of the Premiership teams!
