He said after the game: "If you look at the number of goals we've scored in these games, the number of victories and the quality of our football, it's something amazing in the modern game."

"Going forward, we weren't perfect but we have always looked dangerous this season as we have scored 12 goals in our three league games, and we could have scored even more.

"All our offensive power has been very good and Thierry had just half of a game before the championship started. That shows you how strong he is physically."

"We will not relax now, we want to improve. This record shows that we have become better from season to season. In the past three seasons, we have made a step forward again compared to the first four seasons I was in charge.

"Now we have a good mixture between experience and youth, and we feel we can still improve.

"I was never obsessed by the record, although I was a bit nervous against Middlesbrough as it would have been stupid to lose our 42nd game. Overall, I am just focused on us trying to get better in every game."
