Martin Zubimendi wasn't the first choice target of Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta, according to reports
Martin Zubimendi was a long-time target of Mikel Arteta's, but the club's sporting director would've pursued other players had he had his way.
Andrea Berta is still relatively new in the role at the club but he arrived when the Zubimendi move was already in progress.
Apparently, Berta would've wanted Atletico Madrid’s Pablo Barrios or Sevilla's Lucien Agoume.
We shall see if Zubimendi is the correct signing over the next few months.
