This is what the BBC have to say on the matter:

Arsenal are set to sign Brazilian World Cup goalkeeper Marcos for £2.5m from Palmieras, BBC Sport Online can exclusively reveal.

The two clubs have agreed the fee and it is understood that Marcos is due to fly in to London at 2000 GMT on Tuesday for talks with the Premiership champions.
Arsenal said they had "no official comment" to make on the possible transfer and that it was club policy not to reveal details of any dealings until they were finalised.

Marcos was in impressive form during Brazil's 2002 World Cup winning campaign.

He is expected to move to Arsenal in the summer once the final details of the move are completed.
