Arsenal agree fee with Birmingham for Upson

Twenty three year old Upson obviously wasn't happy with the lack of first team football at Highbury, and with Campbell, Keown, Cygan and even Stepanovs (!) apparently in front of him then his chances always looked to be minimal.

Arsene Wenger said as recently as last week that the player wasn't for sale, but obviously he realises that there is little point in hanging on to him if he's not a part of his plan for the future.

No doubt that there will be fans bemoaning the fact that we are selling yet another youngster, but the fact remains that not one of the youngsters offloaded by wenger has gone on to be a huge succes elsewhere.

It would be wise to remember the old saying "Arsene knows" in this instance if you ask me, all the same, I wish Upson the best for the future.
