Arsenal v Charlton Athletic - Player Ratings

Even Arsene Wenger admitted that, and went on to add that "At times it was maybe too easy."

We started the brighter unsurprisingly, and having missed a hatful of chances eventually took the lead through a wonderful team goal with Pires finishing off the flowing move. Adebayour added a second and that was the end of that for the first half. Hleb got the goal he deserved for his recent performances early in the second half, and after that Charlton stopped even trying to try, and we slowed down the pace to make it a rather long was 25 minutes!

It's a shame Spurs also got the win, but if we keep playing like that I'm sure we can achieve that fourth spot.

Jens Lehmann (7) Had one shot to save, and he kept it out.

Mathieu Flamini (7) Sterling performance.

Kolo Toure (7) It's shows how bad Charlton were that Kolo could play up front for the last 10 minutes without even having to worry about getting back!

Philippe Senderos (7) Easy game to play in.

Emanuel Eboue (7) Played almost as a right winder.

Robert Pires (7) A much improved display, capped with a goal.

Cesc Fabregas (7) Another fine display.

Gilberto (6) A better performance.

Alexandre Hleb (7) Looks the part, but his passing is slightly concerning at times.

Emmanuel Adebayour (6) I must admit I'm not a great fan, he does tend to infuriate me a little with his Kanu like attributes, but fair play, this was a decent display.

Thierry Henry (7) Typical game for him.

Subs:

Robin Van Persie (7) Looked a little rusty but still played well.

Dennis Bergkamp (5) Unlucky to see his fizzing shot fly over the bar.

Alexandre Song (5) Little impact.
