Arsenal v Liverpool - Player Ratings

Last updated : 13 March 2006 By Mike Bohndiek

We played so well in the first half, totally dominating the game and fully deserved to go into the break with a lead, and if anything, deserved to be further in front.

In the second half we allowed Liverpool to start playing in spells, as well played on the break. Amazingly Henry didn't add to his first goal earlier as he missed a string of chances, and others were also guilty of misses.

Against the run of play, Liverpool grabbed an equaliser as Garcia managed to pounce upon a rebound. With all of Highbury in despair, who should pop up but Stevie G to gift us the winner that has / will change our season.

Jens Lehmann (7) Untroubled for the most part, and unlucky to parry a swirling Gerrard shot straight to Garcia.

Mathieu Flamini (8) Another amazing game – who needs Ashley Cole?!

Kolo Toure (7) Solid from start to finish.

Philippe Senderos (8) A truly outstanding game, with so many blocks and tackles I lost count.

Emanuel Eboue (7) Lauren may well have a job getting back in the team.

Freddie Ljungberg (N/A) Taken off injured with just 10 minutes gone.

Cesc Fabregas (8) His finest game for the club.

Gilberto (6) Worked hard but ball retention is still a major issue for him!

Alexandre Hleb (7) Starting to fit right in.

Emmanuel Adebayour (6) Missed a good opportunity early on, and wasn't at his best.

Thierry Henry (7) Could have had 4 on another day, but I suppose two will have to do!

Subs:

Robert Pires (7) Linked well with Henry as you would expect.

Dennis Bergkamp (5) Hardly got into the game.
