Arsenal's Sead Kolasinac has revealed that the support from his teammates in the dressing room provided him with solace after his mistake led to Manchester United's equaliser in the Gunners' 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.
The left wing-back was at fault for United's second goal after he failed to deal with a simple ball over the top, allowing Jesse Lingard to nip in and tap home just moments after Marcos Rojo's own goal had given Unai Emery's men the advantage.
Kolasinac, who was visibly upset on the pitch, cut a devastated figure in the dressing room according to Emery, however, it was the Arsenal boss and the rest of the squad that offered the much needed backing the Bosnian international needed.
"It's a good feeling coming into the dressing room like that," Kolasinac said, as quoted by Sky Sports.
"Especially after knowing you've made a mistake and that mistake has potentially cost us two points. It made me feel better.
"The manager told me in no uncertain terms not to get too down about it, and that did help me. Everyone in the team too, it wasn't just the coaching staff."
"All the players came over and they consoled me and told me not to get too down about it, and it gives you belief and confidence.
"You notice then we're a tight-knit team and I think it's a positive. This week was very important. The derby especially was big for us personally, we knew they were three points in front and wanted to erase that, and we did it.
"At Old Trafford, we got a point but could have got three and feel like it's two points dropped; we're annoyed to leave them there.
„... and then they said: Arsenal will never go 20 games undefeated 藍“ ...four points for us out of these important last two games. We take that and keep going! #sm20 @Arsenal pic.twitter.com/N9gAEqdIQt— Shkodran Mustafi (@MustafiOfficial) December 5, 2018
Arsenal got themselves in front through Skhodran Mustafi but Ander Hererra drew United level shortly after with a close-range finish. Rojo's own-goal, under pressure from Alexandre Lacazette, swung the pendulum back in Arsenal's favour before Kolasinac's error allowed Lingard to pounce, with the match finishing a draw.
