The 25-year old Dane became a Gunner in the summer of 2004 and at the time seemed to have a great future with the North London club. He continued to impress in 2007 while on loan to Bimingham.

However, since his return to Etihad Stadium, Bendtner has struggled to prove himself. He has also suffered disappointing loan spells with Juventus and Sunderland.

His failure to add benefit to the Gunners caused supporters to believe that the Dane would leave the club during the past summer transfer window. But he remained in North London even though French international Olivier Giroud has surpassed Bendtner in importance and impact.

Even though he has remained at the club, he is still expected by fans and most recently Denmark coach to leave Arsenal during the January transfer window.

As a matter of fact, Olsen has encouraged with striker to take the opportunity to leave Arsenal in the earliest opportunity possible. Olsen hopes the striker would have more first-team playing time because ?he has maybe 10 years left to go; he must use them well.?

?Bendtner scored two great goals for us in the game against Italy, but there were also things he lacked in the match and this only comes through playing games,? Olsen told Sky Sports.

?It is for this reason that he should find something new this winter, and so, we know that well. I think he will make the recommendation to himself and that is the main thing. Footballers want to play football.?

Despite his lack of playing time for the Gunners, Danish coach believes the striker is an asset to his country and that he has more to bring to the table concerning his national duties.
