Blackburn Rovers v Arsenal - Player Ratings

And so it is for his team - no one is going to talk about the likes of Bentley and Pedersen when the loathsome Savage dominates proceedings. For all their bleating about getting a bad press, it is no coincidence that the day after they kicked our boys off the park, Blackburn were fine £100,000 for their ill-discipline last season. If you think everybody hates you, Mark, it's because they do. Anyway, in the true Arsenal spirit of giving youth a chance obviously I packed off the young work experience lad from Cyprus to see the side earn a battling point that should have been more.

Jens Lehmann - 3 - First he misjudged a cross but thankfully Derbyshire missed the opportunity then gifted Dunn a goal. Now gets to play against England which should guarantee a quiet night anyway.

Bacary Sagna - 7 - Absolutely superb and fast becoming a favourite.

Gael Clichy - 7 - Another great performance and kept Bentley quiet.

Kolo Toure - 7 - Thank god his early season below par performances are a thing of the past.

William Gallas - 4 - Not the first player to be let down by a dodgy groin we missed his leadership qualities went once he limped.

Theo Walcott - 5 - Lacking confidence as shown when he managed to get clear of their defence only to opt for a bad pass to Van Persie when a shot on goal was the obvious option.

Mathieu Flamini - 6 - Hard, committed performance but not at Gilberto's level. Made a couple of last-minute tackles in our box.

Cesc Fabregas - 7 - Getting better with each game so hopefully will be back to his best versus Manchester City.

Alexander Hleb - 6 - Below his best out of position on the left but gave 100 per cent as usual.

Eduardo - 6 - A good debut and this guy never stops trying.

Robin Van Persie - 6 - Played better than against Sparta but he and Eduardo need time to get used to each other's movement off the ball - took his chance well

Substitutes:

Philippe Senderos - 6 - Did well when he came on although his passing leaves something to be desired.

Niklas Bendtner - 6 - This guy gives us so many different options and will give many a defender nightmares.
