Key Incidents:
Goal (Arsenal) (19) - Reyes flicked the ball through for Freddie who calmly chipped it past Chalkias. A great ball from the Spaniard and a cool finish from the Swede. A fantastic Arsenal goal, so typical of our current attacking form.
Goal (Panithinaikos) (65) - Lehmann`s attempts at sweeping his area went all wrong as he was lobbed for the equalizer.
Goal (Arsenal) (77) - A fantastic break away saw Ash running through on goal. He squared the ball over to Thierry who slotted the ball home for 2-1.
Goal (Panithinaikos) (85) - Lehmann got caught in no mans land and a free header flew past him into the back of the net.
Player Ratings
Jens Lehmann - 5 At fault for both goals. The first some unnecessary sweeping outside his box resulted in a lobbed goal, and the second some extremely poor positioning to allow the equalizer to go in.
Ashley Cole - 9 MOTM. Did well to keep up with some of the quicker Greek attacks. Kept his cool and gave a professional display. Also had a big hand in our second ball - getting the assist.
Kolo Toure - 7 Dealt with whatever was thrown at him and looked comfortable throughout
Sol Campbell - 8 Looked solid and was in truth rarely troubled as Panithinaikos chose to shoot from range.
Lauren - 6 Gave us a few dodgy moments at the back, but well worth a 6.
Robert Pires- 6 Picked up a knock midway through the second half. Missed a glorious chance to make it 3-2 when it seemed easier to score.
Edu - 7 Back from his international fatigue and gave a good display. Certain to start at Old Trafford if Vieira doesn't make it.
Cesc Fabregas - 7 Seems to be getting to grips with the physical side of things. Put himself about a lot and he'll need to if he is going to avoid a serious injury at OT.
Freddie Ljungberg - 8 Another brilliant display from the Swede. Played well all night, looked lively and got a well taken (and earned) goal.
Thierry Henry - 7 Some great awareness set up flowing Arsenal passing movements. Took his goal well.
Jose Reyes - 6 Still yet to score in the Champions League. He had a brace off good chances to end that run but failed to convert any of them. Didn't look as sharpe as in previous matches.
