Portsmouth v Arsenal - Player Ratings

Last updated : 13 April 2006 By Mike Bohndiek

The game was a scrappy one, and when we scored it came from nothing. Having got our noses in front we pushed for a second, but Adebayour seemed to have made it his mission to keep Pompey in the premiership, missing two of the easiest chances he'll ever get while the score was still 1-0.

Typically, Lua Lua then popped up with the equaliser, much to the delight of the Pompey faithful. We still looked dangerous, and but for a few more misses, we could have easily taken the three points.

As it is, we can still get to fourth spot, but we are really making this hard for ourselves.

Looking ahead, it is Dennis Bergkamp day on Saturday, and as such REDaction are hoping that as many of you as possible will make the effort to wear orange in order to turn the stadium into his national colour.

Jens Lehmann (7) Relatively untroubled, but claimed crosses well.

Mathieu Flamini (7) Another sound display.

Sol Campbell (7) A good return to the team, but my god did you see the state of his nose?? Horrific!

Kolo Toure (7) Led the back line, helping Sol to settle back in.

Johan Djourou (6) Defended well, but lacked a little going forward.

Jose Reyes (5) Poor throughout.

Abou Diaby (6) Started well, but faded.

Alexandre Song (5) Couldn't make a pass, or complete a tackle for most of the game.

Freddie Ljungberg (6) Posed little threat in-between the first and last ten minutes.

Emmanuel Adebayour (4) Shocking! He did little to improve my opinion of him with this display.

Thierry Henry (6) Floated in and out of the game.

Subs:

Robin Van Persie (5) Struggled to get into the game.

Alexander Hleb (6) Showed flashes of good play.

Emmanuel Eboue (N/A) Late sub.
