Supporters Trust, Bob Wilson, Perry Groves, Karaoke and Redness @ The Rocket!

Last updated : 31 August 2007 By Ben Dimech

Some of you will remember Nigel Phillips who came in from the Arsenal Supporters Trust last season. He was telling us the implications of a change of AFC share ownership and what we as fans can do to prevent a full takeover. In light of the recent activity, we're delighted to announce that his AST colleague Tim Payton will be doing a ten minute Q&A session at 3:45pm just before the Chelsea match appropriately enough!

Ho hum. At least we've got some nice away trips in Europe to look forward to!

Focusing on the football, we have an early kick off against Pompey (1:30pm). Beforehand, we'll have a great Arsenal man blessing us with his presence. Mr Bob Wilson will be collecting a cheque for £2,000 for the Willow Foundation. The money was raised by you lot last season via raffles, auctions and collections so thank you for supporting such a worthy cause.

Just before our match, we shall do The March to the ground which was a roaring (literally) success last week! This will happen 25 mins before every weekend kick off from The Rocket to the ground. There were just over 100 last time so let's have some more of that! PLEASE also remember to bring your scarves to every match this season. By all accounts, it looked fantastic so we would like as many people as possible in all areas of the ground to keep it going.

As mentioned, after our match, we'll have Tim giving us an ownership update and then we'll show Villa vs Chelsea. We could be top of the table at 4pm. Let's see if the Brummies can keep it that way!

Most Rocket regulars will have been lucky enough to experience Perry Groves's rendition of Sweet Caroline last season. It was quite amazing! We're chuffed to reveal that once Perry has shaken himself free of the corporates at the stadium, he'll be joining us for some well-earned drinks and then onto the karaoke again to do three (THREE) classic songs. This will happen around 6pm and you really really do NOT want to miss it! The karaoke proved popular last season and so after Tintin has done his thing, we'll let you lot loose on it!

As well we all this and the usual beer promotions/beer garden/march goodness, we'll have the Away Boyz's new album "Redness" available for sale at a tenner a go.
