Wenger: 'Overall we dominated'

He said afterwards: "The same thing happened to us a couple of years ago when we played Leeds. They took a quick free-kick through Ian Harte when we were organising the wall and scored from it.

"The rule is a little bit unclear. The referee asked Thierry if he wanted to take the free-kick quickly or wait for the wall. It is in the interest of a player to always say he wants to take a quick free-kick. But the rule has to be clearer.

"As for the penalty to me it looked blatant. I also asked Kanu and he said the same.

"Overall I thought we played well in the first half and always looked dangerous. Villa gave us a hard time in that period when Angel and Allback had chances but overall we dominated and at 2-0 we controlled the game."
