The man himself has said today:
"The construction of the Emirates Stadium meant that for many years we could not spend a lot of money. Our financial situation has greatly improved. We are finally able to buy the players we think we need."
Remarkable stuff, and not a minute too soon either - however please note that he doesn't actually say he's in the market for new players, merely that he has the money should he wish to bring anyone in - which is what he's said for years anyway. Why am I writing this? - it's not really news is it?
