Arsenal have reached an £80m agreement with Newcastle United to complete the signing of central midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
The 28-year-old Brazil international is scheduled to undergo a comprehensive medical examination before signing a five-year contract.
Guimaraes has been Mikel Arteta priority summer target to inject physical power into the Gunners midfield ahead of the new season.
While Newcastle previously demanded close to £90m, negotiations over the weekend ultimately led to a deal between the two clubs.
